Service Details
Austin Drabek, 16, died at Iowa Methodist Medical Center Monday, August 11, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, August 15, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. with burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Austin was born June 14, 1992 in Des Moines to John and Brenda Drabek. He enjoyed working on cars, rap music and hanging out with friends.
Austin is survived by his mother, Brenda Drabek; his brother, Ryan Drabek; special friend, Randy Waller; his dogs, Copper and Junior; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his dad, John and his grandparents.

Brenda and Ryan....I am so sorry...Austin always held a special place in my heart...I remember him coming to my house and playing with Colin...he was always very nice and respectful to me....I also remember him going to the bowling alley with Colin and myself and he always had a good time...I really enjoyed his company...he was so cute, I will miss him...I have and will continue to pray for him and you both....Mic

I am so sorry about Austin my family and I's thoughts and prayers are with him. My son Cody Merkley was new at SouthEast Polk last year, and Austin reminded Cody alot of himself, the baggie clothes, bling and rap music. Once again we are sorry to here of your loss.
