Jonathan Dings Sr

On August 11, 2008 Jonathan S. Dings, Sr. 42, joined his loving daughter, Ashli in heaven who passed away on February 18, 2006.
Jon was born on July 23, 1966 in Frankfurt, Germany to Samuel E. Dings and Gwendolyn J. Hill. He grew up in Johnston, Iowa where he attended school. At the age of 20, he married Mindi B. Moore and to that union three children were born. Jonathan S. Dings, Jr. (16), Tiffani A. Dings (13) and Ashli N. Dings (deceased at age 5).
Jon and Mindi were together 22 years living in Saylor Township. Jon was a drywall hanger for Heartland Finishes Inc. through Carpenters Local 106. He loved his work and was quite the perfectionist. Jon loved his children, they were his best friends. He enjoyed motorcycle racing, fishing, and was involved in all his children’s sports activities. Jon’s passion was spending time with his wife and children, they especially loved going to concerts. They will miss him dearly.
Jon is survived by his wife, Mindi Dings; children, Jonathan Jr. and Tiffani; father, Sam (Bobbi) Dings; mother, Gwen (Tom) Hill; brothers, Lonnie (Kasey) Dings and Nick (Yolonda) Dings; sister, Jennifer (Brad) Ruden; step-sister, Kristin (Craig) Geppert; sisters in law, Darby (Jeff) Brincks and Brenda (Steve) Huegerich; in laws, Danny and MaryAnn Moore and 12 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 18, 2008 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines; burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. Family will visit with friends from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, August 17, 2008 at the funeral home.
