Zora Evans

Zora Evans, 101, died Monday, August 4, 2008 at Mill Pond Care Center. A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 8, 2008 at Hope Lutheran Church, 3857 E. 42nd Street, with burial to follow at Glendale Cemetery.
Zora was born February 27, 1907 to William and Lillie Patterson in Lucas, Iowa. She worked for National Handcraft Society and the Des Moines Register. Zora was a member of Hope Lutheran Church.
Zora is survived by her children, Phyllis Clark of Independence, MO, Colleen (Nathan) Chaney of Tucson, AZ, and Allen (Bonnie) Evans of Urbandale; five grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Evans; and two sisters.
Memorial contributions may be given to Hope Lutheran Church or Hospice of Central Iowa.
Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
