Evelyn Seeley

Evelyn Ida Bason-Seeley, 84, of Anamosa went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, August 3, 2008. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave.; burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Family will visit with friends from 12:00 p.m. until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Evelyn was born February 2, 1924 in Creston, Iowa. She was retired from the United States Post Office. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. Her favorite bird was the cardinal and she loved flowers and butterflies. Her family and friends were her pride and joy and she enjoyed playing the piano. Evelyn was a life long member of Grace Baptist Church.
Evelyn is survived by her husband, Max Seelyof Anamosa; children, Sheri (Joe) Godfroy of Redfield, Richard (Karen) Bason of Des Moines, Robert (Linda) Bason of San Antonio, TX, and Cindy (Mike) Krahl of Phoenix, AZ; her step-children, David Seeley of Anamosa, Donna Lou (Pete) Clagett of Anamosa, Darrell (Trisha) Seeley of Wales, WI, Clarke (Donna) Seely of Marion, Gail (Bernie) DeLeseleuc of Shediac, New Brunswick, and Rose Anne (Dave) Steninger of Cedar Rapids; her sisters, Arlene Sherer of West Des Moines, Pauline (Dennis) Sweet of Shannon City and Marion Hess of Afton; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, George (Bill) W. Bason Sr., her son, George (Bill) W. Bason Jr., and her daughter, Crystal Ruffcorn.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Fairview Baptist Church in Fairview, Iowa in loving memory of Evelyn.
