John Howard Young

John Howard Young, 83, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018. John worked for Western Electric as an Installer for 35 years and was a U.S. Army veteran of the 101st Airborne Division. He loved fishing and other outdoor activities as well as playing cards with his friends.

John is survived by his son, Mark (Becky) Young of Mitchellville; daughter, Teresa Young Lawser of Colorado; and his brother, Joe (Ellen) Young of Lake Tahoe. John has grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Dorothy Young; Wife of 49 years, Patsy Ruth (Hester) Young; daughter, Cindy Lou (Young) Richter; and brother, Vernon Young of California.

Services to be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at the Santiago United Methodist Church, 8050 109th St., Mitchellville, Iowa.

Donations in lieu of flowers to Hospice of the Midwest in Johnston, Iowa.
