Jeffrey Larson, age 63, passed away on July 24, 2018 at Methodist Hospital. He was born on February 27, 1955 in Burlington, Iowa.
Jeffrey graduated from West Burlington High School. He enjoyed playing football and being a Boy Scout. Jeffrey proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for 22 years. He was a history buff and enjoyed watching war movies. Some of his hobbies included, working on puzzles, reading books and the newspaper he was often known as the “news junkie”. Jeffrey had a love for dogs and especially loved his family and grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Jennifer (Chad) and their children, Kaegan and Ashley; son, Andrew Larson; mother, Marilyn Larson-Monroe; brothers, Stephen (Jane) Larson and Gregory (Bonnie) Larson; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and the mother of his children, Sandra Larson.
Jeffrey was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Larson; and grandparents, Larson and Struble.
Visitation will be held at 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, July 29, 2018, with funeral service following at 3 p.m., at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Burial will take place at 11 a.m., Monday, July 30th at Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter.
Memorials may be directed to the Animal Rescue League or the American Cancer Society in memory of Jeffrey.

Our sincerest condolences to Marilyn, Jennifer, Andrew, Greg and Steve! We regret that we are not able to attend Jeffs service today but we are with you all in spirit and prayer!!
We know in our heart that Jeff is at peace but it doesnt make it any easier to let him go!

We are so saddened by the loss of our friend, Jeff. He will be greatly missed by our family and our dog, McGregor. Sitting out front won't be the same without him.
