Margarita Borges

Margarita Borges, 66, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Margarita was born July 20, 1952, in Cenotillo, Yucatan, Mexico to Onorio and Indelfonsa Balam. Family was everything to her. She adored her family, especially her grandchildren, and was an extremely caring person. Margarita was the best mother-in-law, welcoming extended family with open arms. She was very personable and kind-hearted. She did not have a mean bone in her body. She enjoyed sewing and knitting in her free time.

Margarita is survived by her children, Jorge (Marla) Borges, Ismael (Victoria) Borges Jr., Reyna (Salvador) Ramirez and Cindy Borges; grandchildren, Shayla, Adrien, Luis, Salvador, Gabriela, Yessenia, Javier, Andrea, Kaytlynn, Izel, Gianna, Jaelin and Ysabella; and her great-grandchildren, Lydianah and Andre.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ismael Borges-May; parents, Onorio and Indelfonsa; and sisters, Lucia and Catalina.

Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines, and will conclude with burial at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the funeral.
