Freda Huffman

Freda Hall Huffman, 97, passed away July 15, 2018, at her home in Osage Beach, Missouri. She was born March 25, 1921, in New Virginia, Iowa, to Arthur and Mabel Hall.
Freda was united in marriage to Woodrow “Red” Huffman on November 27, 1948. She retired from AMF Western Tool.
Freda loved quilting and sewing and used her talents to make clothing for newborns at Iowa Lutheran Hospital and Christmas stockings. Freda also enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, and decorating cakes.
Freda was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Iowa Lutheran Auxiliary, past president of PTA, and volunteered at Iowa Lutheran Hospital for nearly 25 years.
Freda is survived by her daughters, Nancy Keifer of Osage Beach, MO and Jeanette Thompson of Sacramento, CA; grandchildren, Michelle (Ron) DeMille of Folsom, CA and Michael (Sonja) Thompson of Citrus Heights, CA; many great-grandchildren; as well as her estranged son, Steve Huffman and his 3 children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Red Huffman; daughter, Dianna Moss; son-in-law, Ron Keifer; 3 brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines, with visitation from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow the service at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Iowa Lutheran Teen’s Scholarship.

I've known Steve since I was a young kid riding a horse. I was related to him for a lot of years. I still consider him my brother in law. I feel just horrible for him right now. This has to be tearing you up. Please remember you are a wonderful person and as Sonja said, God does know this!!!

Freda you will be miss ,you and Red was great people ,we was lucky to know you and Red and time we share together with the other Firestone people, sorry we will have to miss her service
