I lived across the street from Barb; she became my first best friend at age 3yrs and weve kept in touch ever since. We didnt have many luxuries, but shared everything...successes, failures, laughter and tears. Many thought we were twins because we went everywhere together and would even dress alike.
I remember learning to spell in the frost on her windows, roller skating around the kitchen table, making a playhouse out of a car windshield box, climbing our cherry tree barefoot to talk in "our special place", and keeping our parents awake at overnight birthday parties. We picked sweet corn and strawberries from our Moms gardens; brought home bullheads sloshing in buckets on our bike handlebars riding back over 2mi of gravel roads; cut the lawn with a push mower; and got jobs de-tasseling corn...and if there was work, we didnt know it as long as we were doing it together.
Barb was a proud, self-made woman with a successful career, respected, honest, courageous and wise, always ready to help others, and stood-by what she believed in. Any disappointments were quickly wiped away with Barbs warm smile, twinkle in her eyes; and with her positive attitude she had few regrets.
Barb deeply loved her family, friends, and especially loved living near the light-of-her-life, her only daughter and three grand children.
Everyone should be fortunate enough to have a friend like Barb, and although I know shes now in heaven, I will dearly miss my lifetime friend...until we meet again.

To Sarah, Luke and family. The only thing I can think of, is how gut-wrenching it is to lose a loved one. I'm glad I've come to know you and your sweet little family. Blessings come in little ways...like Coco and Rubes. May God Bless you always.
