Chansouk Manivan

Chansouk Manivan, age 94, passed away peacefully Monday, July 2, 2018 at 2:45 a.m., at her home in Des Moines. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 6 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 7 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines with cremation following the service.

Chansouk was born December 28, 1923, in Luang-Prabang, Laos to Thitkhoune and Thongsy Sodaroth Soukhaphone. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, and selling clothing.

She is survived by her children, Chem Phichit of Des Moines, Khouane Manivanh of Des Moines, Amnouey Manivanh of Laos, Bounsouey Manivanh of Switzerland, Sunny Bounsong of Des Moines, Soukthanome Baccam of Hiawatha, Vilat Manivanh of Des Moines, Phatsone Lovan of Des Moines and their families, 18 grandchildren, three great-grandchilren, sister, Chansy Rattanong of New Zealand, nephew, Bounthong Kenesy, niece, Bounpane Keomanychanh and their families.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ouane Manivanh and her parents.
