Walter "Ed" Speck

Walter “Ed” Speck, age 64, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018, at Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines of heart failure.
Ed was born April 20, 1954. He grew up on the east side of Des Moines and was better known to many as “Pack Rat.”
He is survived by his sister Gloria Proctor, niece Cherl Dunn, great-nephew Corey Dunn, great-nieces Savanah and Sumer Dunn, great-great-nephew Ryder, great-great-nieces Jazlynn and Haven, all from Knoxville, Iowa, wife Cheryl Lucas and son Ryan Speck (Amelia).
He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Mary Speck and many other family members and life long friends.
Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 7, 2018, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.

I have some great memories of Ed, we spent many nights talking about life. Though I didn't see him much in the last years, I will never forget those talks.

Very sorry for the loss of a "one of a kind" person. He gave love and comfort to my daughter and her family for many years, we will miss him.
