Frank Sposeto II
June 27, 2018
Frank Thomas Sposeto II passed away at home on June 27, 2018.
He was born to Anne Rose (Griglione) Sposeto and John Anthony Sposeto Sr. on October 11, 1947 in Des Moines, IA. He was the oldest of five children born to Anne and John: Maria, John Jr, Michael, and Thomas. He attended St. Anthony’s and Dowling High School, graduating with the class of 1965. He attended Drake University as well as Grandview in Des Moines before marrying Marchele Kay McIntosh. His three children were born soon after: Frank Thomas Sposeto III, Tiffiny Jo (Sposeto) Poage, and Alexander Paul Sposeto. In 1990, he married Roselyn Marie Crick and gained three daughters: Shelli Lynn Edmondson, Selena Lynn Edmondson, and Selesa Lynn (Edmondson) Wilson.
Frank retired from Qwest after 30 years of service, where he met his friend who was his life-time brother, Kelly Bain. Frank was a Gold member of Communications Workers of America. In his “semi-retirement,” he was a delivery driver for J & J Delivery and an armed National Rifle Association member. Some of his best times were spent journeying throughout the country, both for J & J as well as on adventures with friends and family.
Frank is survived by his loving wife, Roselyn; his mother, Anne; children, Frank (Tammy) Sposeto III, Tiffiny (Kent) Poage, Alexander Sposeto, Shelli Edmondson, Selena Edmondson, and Selesa (Matthew Cook) Wilson; siblings Maria (Harry), John Jr. (Tammie), Michael (Christie), Thomas (Christy), and Kelly Bain; grandchildren, Breanna, Kennady, Cassidy, Darline, Virginia, Frank IV, Jordan, Alexa, Simone, Savana, Sierra, Sarah, Abigail, Alexander, Heaven, and Grace; and great-grandchildren, Paden, Addison, and Emerson, who will be arriving soon. Frank was preceded in death by his father, John Sr. and great-granddaughter, Keilena.
The family will greet friends on Sunday, July 1, 2018 from 3 to 4pm. The funeral service will follow at 4 pm at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th St, Des Moines.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Roselyn in honor of Frank.
