John "Jack" May

Jack May, 77, passed away at home on June 25, 2018 in Des Moines. He was born July 23, 1940 in rural Kensett, Iowa to Clifford and Caroline (Walk) May.

Jack enjoyed racing, playing billiards and working on cars.

He is survived by his children, Julie (Rick) Carmer, Debbie (Steve) Roeder, Nick (Melissa) May and Andrea May; grandchildren, Lacy May, Robbie Aguiniga, Heather (Jeff) Nelson, Abby Allen, Jacob (Jordan) Allen, Erika Roeder, Drake May and Tate May; 9 great-grandchildren; siblings, Shirley Olson, Carol Leschefske and Ronald May.

Jack was preceded in death by his grandson, Jeremy Allen; siblings, Raymond May, Dennis May, Doris May, Lois Schultz and Mardell Mueller; and his parents.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St., Des Moines. Burial of cremated remains will take place at a later date at Altoona Cemetery.
