Nettie Jane Knierim

Nettie Jane Knierim passed away at home in Altoona, Iowa on June 24, 2018, she was 82 years old. She was born on May 5, 1936 to Mary and Walter H. Lee Sr. Jane was married to Kenneth Knierim who preceded her in death. She was a retired Kindergarten teacher in the Saydel School District and was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Altoona, where she relearned about her God and Savior after suffering a severe head injury and had the assurance of her heavenly, eternal home.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Virginia Beetner of Altoona, brothers Harold Lee, Jr. of Pleasant Hill, IA and Donald Lee of Florida.
She is survived by her sisters Loretta Kisch of Higbee, MO and Carol Tillota of Des Moines, IA, step-daughter Connie Hammersley of California, sisters-in-law Sandy Lee of Florida and Margaret (Martie) Lee of Pleasant Hill, IA, and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Jane was a very loving, giving woman who loved her family and friends and that included her special friend, Chang the Cat who gave her many hours of enjoyment. She had a good sense of humor and loved spending time with her nieces and nephews especially as they started bringing their babies around for her to hold and love.
Visitation will be held at 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday, June 30, 2018, held at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Private inurnment will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church or the Polk County Animal Rescue League.

I just want to offer my sincere condolences. Mrs. Knierim was my Kindergarten teacher back in 1976. I've always held such fond memories of her in my heart. ?
