William "Bill" Hummel

William Earl Hummel, 71, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Bill was born in Des Moines, Iowa to John and Ruth (Kittle) Hummel. He was a simple man who enjoyed fishing and fixing things. He loved his dogs, feeding horses, and his trees.

Bill is survived by his children, Regina Toney, John Hummel, Shawn Kelso, Phillip Hummel, Adam Hummel, Alex (Tasia) Hummel; grandchildren, Justin, Chance, Elizabeth, Dez, Deliah, Tristin, Elicee, Sway, Braxton, Kemper; great-grandchildren, Maddison, Derek; and his siblings, Dixie, John “Junior”, DeAnna and Sarah “Toodie”. He was preceded in death by his wife, Liz, grandson, Dakota, and his parents, John and Ruth.

There will be a celebration of Bill’s life at his residence on Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. Condolences may be expressed at www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com. In Bill’s name, charitable contributions may be directed to Carlisle Veterinary Clinic, 550 S 2nd St, Carlisle, IA 50047.
