Wanda Turchi

Wanda Jean Turchi, 92, passed away June 20, 2018 at Genesis Senior Living.
Wanda was born on August 3, 1925 in Guthrie Center, Iowa to Lester and Lena Van Note. She retired from Dahl’s in 1987, where she had worked in the bakery for 34 years. Wanda was an active member of Christ the King Catholic Church. She loved to bowl and was a member of several bowling leagues over the years. Wanda enjoyed many family trips to Italy. She loved watching her grandchildren’s soccer, softball and baseball games, going to garage sales, dancing with her husband, playing the piano, spending time with her friends, playing cards with the ladies and driving them around, and giving hugs to everyone she met.
Wanda is survived by her daughters, Carla (Todd) Murray, Toni Fontanini and Cheryl Cummins; son, Jim (Judy) Fontanini; ten grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sister, Donna Routh; and a host of extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Giancarlo Turchi and her sister, Helen Van Note.
The family will greet friends Monday, June 25, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 12 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Wanda will be laid to rest at Glendale Cemetery.

Wanda was such a good and loving friend....but she will be so so glad to be with John again....we played cards at Violas for several years...and she was one heck of a good player.. We sat by each other at church for many years also,,, I am so sorry to miss her service but my daughter is arriving in the morning from out of state...LOVE to all of her family...and peaceful blessings to you all...
