Zona Johnson, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 with her family by her side.

Zona was born November 4th, 1939, in Des Moines, Iowa to Agnes and Virgil (Casey) Gonder. She attended East High School in Des Moines. Zona loved spending time with her family, friends and her dog Angel. She loved fishing, camping, boating, traveling, and was always on the go. She especially loved playing cards. Her smile and one of a kind personality always lit up the room.

Zona is survived by her daughters, Diane Johnson and Alisoun Ganoe; son, Greg (Joleen McGriff) Johnson; grandkids, Donnie (Maribeth) Johnson, Casie Johnson, Zack Johnson, and Justin Johnson; great granddaughters, Laila and Delilah.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Agnes and Virgil (Casey) Gonder and son, Jeff Gonder.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, June 25, 2018 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Tuesday, June 26th, also at the funeral home followed by burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
