Jerry Rudy

Jerry Rudy, 56, of Indianola died Sunday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2008 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th in Des Moines; visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Chapel Hill Cemetery.
Jerry was born January 17, 1952 in Des Moines to John and Jessie Rudy. He graduated from East High in 1970 and married Barbara Young on May 29, 1989. Rudy was a truck driver for the Elder Corporation for 26 years. He enjoyed music, cars, driving his truck, his friends and family.
Rudy is survived by his wife Barbara Rudy; his children Ryan McHone (Olga Ilnitsky), Megan (Brad) Alderton and Jennifer (Wade) Brunsman; his grandchildren, Tyler Alderton and Shawn Brunsman; his sister, Jackie Kane; and his nephews, Dan Kane (Khristey McCllough) and John Kane. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Jim, and his parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to start a college fund for his grandsons.
