Barry Swingle

Barry Swingle, 73, of West Des Moines, IA, previously of Andover, MN, died peacefully surrounded by family Saturday, June 16, 2018 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer at the Taylor House Hospice. He was born August 12, 1944 in Byesville, Ohio. Barry retired from Wickes Furniture of Edina, MN.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Katherine; his sons, Jeremie (Carrie) Swingle and granddaughter Emersyn and Brian Swingle; sisters, Marlene Sheridan of Nashville, Eloise Wilson of Byesville, OH, Dixie (Fred) Huff of Cambridge, OH; sister-in-law, Paulette Paumen (Will); brothers-in-law, Rodney (Sue) Morkert and Richard Morkert all of MN; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Fern Swingle and sister, Delores Stillion, father-in-law, Orris Morkert, mother-in-law, Evelyn Morkert and nephew, Joseph Morkert.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines, with visitation prior from 12:00 to 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family in loving memory of Barry.
