Anna “Anne” Wheaton, 98, passed away June 14, 2018, at Bishop Drumm Care Center in Johnston, Iowa. She was born September 30, 1919, in Des Moines, to William and Mary Blodgett.
Anne was a proud graduate of East High School. She was united in marriage to Joe Wheaton on August 4, 1942, in Bethany, MO. She loved to play the organ and will be remembered as the family story teller.
Anne is survived by her children, Dr. Joe (Paula Nees) Wheaton and Joann (Dr. Michael Van Natta) Schissel; grandchildren, Dr. Jason (Megan Watson) Schissel and Jenna Schissel; great-grandchildren, Finnian Schissel and Veda Schissel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; her sisters, Nettie and Frances and her brother, John.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines.

My sympathy to all the family. It is so difficult to lose a mother and grandmother. Anne had a long life, but you always want another day with her to tell her about your experiences. Keep talking to her. I believe she will hear you.

Our deepest condolences to the family of Anna Wheaton. Joe and Joann you are in our thoughts and prayers. Aunt Anna was such a pleasant person to visit. Living here in central Missouri, we didnt get to visit as often as we should. I will always appreciate her advise.
Just remember all the great times you had with her.
