Dolores Mae Brewer

Dolores Mae Brewer passed away peacefully at her home at Valley View Village on Wednesday June, 13th 2018.
Dolores was born December 30, 1923 in Des Moines, Iowa, and was the daughter of John Thomas Mackin and Tina (Dodge) Mackin. She was a lifelong resident of Des Moines and a graduate of Lincoln High School.
Dolores was married to Heywood Brewer and worked as a clerk/typist in the mailing department of Dial Financial Services, and retired in 1985 after 35 years of service.
Dolores is survived by her children, Carol (Darrell) Carpenter of Perry, Ga., John (Bonnie) Mackin, Charlene (Fred) Williams, Pam Lewis, and David (Linda Kay) Brewer, all of Des Moines. She is also survived by her sister, Hazel Freeman of Orofino, Id., 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Heywood, parents, John and Tina Mackin, eleven siblings and her great-granddaughter, Aji’ana Richardson.
Our entire family wishes to thank the staff and residents at Valley View Village for the excellent care, compassion and friendship provided to Dolores during her stay at the Health Center.
