Carla Gilmour

Carla Gilmour, 69, went to be with the Lord on June 12, 2018. She was born on June 4, 1949, to Delbert and Grace McIntosh, in Santa Paula, California. Carla was longtime resident of Camarillo, CA. prior to moving to Bondurant, IA, in 2006.
Carla was employed by the State of California, as a Psych Tech. at the old Camarillo State Hospital. She finished her career with the State, in the Licensing Department, after 37 years of service. Carla was a longtime member of the Women of the Moose (WOTM). During her years as a member of Camarillo Chapter 1957 and Capital City (IA) Chapter 2381. Carla had earned and received all honors of the WOTM. Her most prized award came when she received the Lifetime Achievement Award as the first recipient for the IA-E. Nebraska Moose Association.
Carla was the Matriarch of her family. She was a very caring, loving, and generous lady. Her home was always open to family and friends. She enjoyed LIFE and spending time with her family, which includes her Moose family.
Carla is survived by her husband, Art; daughters, Rebecca (Terry) Flemmens, Kimberly (Chris) Campbell, grandchildren, Andrew Jacobs, Marissa Williams, Jesse Campbell, Emily Campbell, and Josh Campbell. Including two sisters, Sandra (Steve) Bowers, Marlene (Tim) Joseph, a brother, Garland (Leslie) McIntosh. Also, her sister-in-law, Hope Palmquist and niece, Heather Brittingham of Florida.
Carla was proceeded in death by her parents, a sister, Karen Kee, a brother, Gary McIntosh, and her grandchildren Kylie and Tyler Williams.
A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW in Altoona, Iowa.

My sincere condolences to Art, Marlene, family and all those who loved her. I know there are so many and she will be so missed. I can only imagine how difficult this must be . May you find some comfort in joyful memories. I have many of Carla myself. I know she is in heaven with the loved ones who left before her. Bless you all!

Art, Im so sorry. I havent seen Carla for years but I always think of her smile, enthusiasm and energy. Ill miss her on Facebook. My prayers are with you and all of her family.

Art and family, Jerry and I are so sorry for yr loss. Carla was such a sweet lady. She will be missed in our townhome "family". We are on vacation so unable to make the service. You will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.
