Dean Jay Davis, 46, died Saturday, July 26, 2008. His family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St.
Dean was born October 3, 1961 in California. He worked for Altoona Lawn Care and owned and operated Daughter’s Lawn Care with his daughters. Dean loved nature. He enjoyed NASCAR, drag racing and sprint car racing. Dean loved spending any free time he could find with his grandchildren.
Dean is survived by his wife, Serena; children, Amanda (Adam Fairchild) Smith, Kimberly Davis, Karen Jones, Robert Jones, Chelsea Davis and Danny Jones; three granddaughters, Destany Fairchild, Emma Davis and Ellen Foster; father and stepmother, Orville Dean and Shirley Davis; mother-in-law, Betty Slater; sister-in-law, Lova Friederich; and his best friend and co-worker, Matt Stevenson. He was preceded in death by his mother, Diane.

The devastation our family feel for each of you that Dean loved cannot adequately be expressed in words. While working for Altoona Lawn Care, Dean was usually on the scene to mow and trim our lawn. I remember how he was so careful of my flowers. One time, a new man was working with Dean, and Dean stopped everything to tell this young man not to touch certain plants because "they were flowers" and now weeds. God Bless you all.

Serena, I don't know what to say except that I am so sorry that this happened to you and the family and that I do know that dean loved you with all his heart and soul, as well as the kids. He told me once that he was so very happy that he had a made a life with you and the kids. You are what kept him going when the going was tough, my church and I have a prayer line going and will keep it going as long as needed. I hope that you except my deepest sympathy for you and your family..

I can not express enough how much Dean will be missed...I will always keep him in my thoughts and prayers along with your family. Dean loved you Serena, he talked of you often and how happy he was with his wonderful life that he had made with you and the kids. You are what made him complete, always know that.
