Amelia Bienaime

Amelia Bienaime, 97, died Thursday, July 24, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 28, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. with burial at the Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Amelia was born September 6, 1910 in Blithe, Iowa. She worked for Rawlins Hosiery Mill for many years. She then worked at Younkers until her retirement in 1975. Amelia was a member of VFW Auxillary Post 738.
Amelia is survived by her daughter, Rose Ann (Edward Finnegan) Iiams of Des Moines; son, Richard (Avis) Bienaime of Des Moines; grandchildren, Cory Iiams, Lisa (Paul) Sims and Ray Bienaime; and great-grandchildren, Daniel and Megan Sims. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Alfred and two brothers, Raymond and Joseph Van Elsen.
