William Saunders

William (Bill) Saunders, 52, a beloved husband, father and son, unexpectedly went to be with his Lord and Savior, July 20, 2008 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.
Bill was an active and dedicated member, trustee and librarian of Federated Church of Bondurant. For many years he served a local Demolay chapter and had been an active Toastmaster in Des Moines. Bill was especially proud of his work with the Christian fellowship group AWANNA.
Bill is survived by his wife of 25 years Elaine; two sons, Luke and Jonathan, his parents, Bill & Delphine of Des Moines; one sister, Wanette Smiley of Ankeny and two brothers, Wendell of Des Moines and Wally of Phoenix AZ.
Bill graduated Hoover HS in Des Moines and received an AA degree in accounting from DMACC. He was employed at Principal and Younkers for several years but ultimately had to retire due to the many physical challenges in his life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Senior HS youth group at his church or to ChildServe.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 23, at the Federation of Bondurant Church, 103 2nd Street, Bondurant. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 24 at the church.
