Service Details
John J. Croy, 35 of Urbandale, Iowa died July 17, 2008. Services will be at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines, IA. Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 22, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. at Memory Cemetery in New Market, IA.
John was born October 20, 1972 in Waverly, Iowa to David and Barbara Croy. John graduated from Urbandale High School. He loved all types of sports, hunting, fishing and spending time with his daughter and family. John was a Supervisor for Wells Fargo Collection Department. He was a very loving and caring person and was a complete gentlemen at all times. In his quest of life, laughter and humor and love were the things John strived for. He made everyone around him happy.
John is survived by his parents, David and Barbara Croy of Urbandale, IA; daughter, Camryn N. Croy of Urbandale and Des Moines, IA; brother, Christopher (Tari) Croy of Johnston, IA; grandmother, Ruby Louise Crane (Newell Desart) of Shenandoah, IA; uncles, Roger (Janet) Croy of Raytown, MO, Michael (Maryln) Croy of Camdenton, MO; aunt, Gloria Croy of Los Altos, CA and Beverly Bramble of Clarinda, IA; Camryn’s mother, Becky (David) Gomez of Des Moines, IA; and many loving cousins and friends.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to start a college fund for Camryn.

I had the pleasure of meeting John for a very short time when I started my Career with Wells Fargo. John and I had the "Southwest Iowa" connection. I am very sad along with everyone else at Wells Fargo not to be able to see John's smiling face everyday. Camryn you are so lucky to have such a great Dad and he talked about you every day. Please take care and know that he is still fishing, hunting, and of course Smiling as he did every day. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you in this time of sorrow. Dave and Barb it was a pleasure to meet you and be able to share the "Shenandoah" connection with you and please know that we are here for you at all times if needed.

I met John through work at Wells Fargo Financial. He was always someone to look to for an answer and a smiling face or a good chuckle. One of the many qualities John possessed was being a naturally positive person. His laughter and his sarcasam was contaigous throughout the office. His upbeat personality and leadership will truly be missed by all of us. John was also a friend of mine outside of work, and I will miss him dearly. Camryn, your daddy loves you, you are all he ever talked about. My thoughts and prayers are with you now at this difficult time. I am privelaged to have known John.

When I met John over a year ago at Wells Fargo he was someone I could follow and learn from in our line of work, he was always an upbeat person who was the most postive person I have ever met, someone who you looked forward to walking into work and seeing cause that smirk on his face just made you smile, I had the chance to really get to know him inside and outside of work and he was truly an amazing guy and someone you wanted to be like cause he was full of laughter and joy. My thoughts and prayers are with his family in this time of need. May god help you get through this difficult time and know that he was very loved by many, and his memories will carry on. Camryn, I have had the pleasure to meet you a couple times, and your daddy talked everyday about you. . . he was so proud of you and loved you very much. . .just the other day I asked how you were and he said great, growing shes been very busy with camp, and vacationing, I miss her, I feel like she has been go go go go this sumnmer. . . May god be with you during this difficult time and get you through this.

I will miss you as will everyone else you knew. . .you were an impact on so many people, always a helping hand, or a phone call way to chat or say hey lets go do something tonight. John was my Team Lead when I first started at Wells Fargo Financial. I learned a lot from him about the job and life. It's amazing how much I can miss someone that impacted me so much and was only in my life for what seems like a flicker. You are and will always me dearly miss. I met John through Wells Fargo Financial. He was always someone you could ask for help & he would help in any way he could. The nicest person you could ever have been privileged to have known. Camryn, there wasn't a day that went by that you dad didn't speak of you. He loved you more than anything! John will be missed by so many. He has touched many lives.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of John's friends and most importantly his family. John was a great guy and will never be forgotten. He had lots of friends that adored him and family that loved him. I hope he see's how many people trully cared about him. He was an awesome supervisor at Wells Fargo Financial and he will definatlly be missed. He wasn't just a boss to all of us, he was a true friend. He could always make people smile, and always knew the right things to say. You can say there was never a dull moment when you were around him. :) Also my heart goes out to his daughter Camryn, who ment everything to him. My condolences go out to his family. John was a great guy, who had many great qualities. We worked together and we fished together a few times, but few is never enough when you find someone like John. Good fishing buddies are hard to find.
I pray that I may live to fish.......

I would like to send my condolences to the family of John Croy.
Six years ago John hired me as an account analyst at Wells Fargo Financial. With the opportunity John provided me I've been able to build a wonderful life and stable home for my family. Most recently I've had the good fortune to work with John side by side on a regular basis, in our line of work and current economic environment we faced our share of challenges, with John around I always felt I had a partner and together we could accomplish anything.
I am very grateful to have known, worked for, and worked with such a great guy.
John, you will truly be missed, thanks for everything.

I was deeply saddened to hear about the death of John. My heart goes out to John's family and especially Camryn. John talked about her everyday. He would always show me the newest pictures of her and keep me up to date of the weekly events planned with her. He would bring her into work to see us and she would tell me what her and her dad had planned for the day. He was so proud of her!
John was a co-worker and a friend of mine. I have worked with him directly since I started at the center almost 4 years ago. He was a great person to go to with questions and he always had an answer for everything, most of the time a sacastic one! That was Croy and I always looked forward to seeing him at work and outside of work. Lunch dates with never be the same.
I will miss giving you a hard time about fishing and hunting. It was something you loved to do and definitely not a hobby of mine! Everytime I see geese flying overhead, I will think of you. You always made comments about going to get them when we would see them flying by on the way to lunch. Or the geese hanging out in the overflow lot.
John, you were one of the best people to work with and one of the best friends anyone could have. You have always been there for me during my rough patches in life and I will never forget that. I will keep the memories I have of you close and think about you everyday. I am glad I had some great times with you, especially my birthday this past July 4th. You were always there when I needed to vent and you always put a smile on my face regardless of the situtation. You will be missed by many and especially me!
You are all in my thoughts and prayers. May you find the strength to make it through this difficult time.
