Paul J. Umphress, Jr. was born September 11, 1949 in Davenport, IA to Paul Sr.and
Margaret Umphress. He died peacefully July 16, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be planned at a later date.
Paul was a Dowling graduate and an Army Vietnam Veteran.
He is survived by his son, Jason (Debra) Umphress and two grandchildren; Andrew and
Amanda. He also leaves his parents; Paul, Sr. and Margaret Umphress, a sister Geri Best and four brothers; Bill (Christine) Umphress, Steve (Valerie) Umphress, David Umphress all of Des Moines and Tom (LeAnn) Umphress of Arkansas.
Preceding him in death was his sister, Paula Harvey.
Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
