Patricia Lewis, 52, of Des Moines died July 16, 2008. Patricia was born January 10, 1956 to Ralph and Jane Eck in St. Louis, MO. She graduated from Kirkwood High School in Kirkwood, MO. Patricia worked as an Associate for the Des Moines Public School system working with children with special needs. She also enjoyed working with her students at Veteran’s Hospital in Des Moines. She was a member of Walnut Hills United Methodist Church and was active in various church functions, the Parents of Teens Group and Circle Group. Patricia had three wonderful children, and was involved with many of their activities such as Boy and Girl Scouts. She enjoyed cooking and reading mysteries.
Patricia is survived by her children; sons, Timothy and Daniel; daughter, Sara; sisters, Barbara Ruck (James), Sharon Majoros and a multitude of extended family, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be Monday, July 21 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, July 22 at 10:00 a.m. at Walnut Hills United Methodist Church, 12321 Hickman Road, Urbandale. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of: Sharon Majoros, 3845 Jacinto Drive, St. Louis, MO 63125.

My heart goes out to the family of Patricia. I work at Hoover High School and I have the outmost respect for her. She was a wonderful woman and anyone who knew her would agree with me. She was kind, considerate, had tons of patience with the kids she worked with and she was very funny. Those are only a few of the positive qualities of Patricia. We would have the best of times making each other laugh when stress levels were very high at work. Those are some wonderful memories. She had a heart of gold and her 3 kids were her world. She talked often about her kids and she was very proud of each and every one of you....Timothy, Daniel and Sara. I was very blessed to have had her share some memories in my life.
I wish all of you strength to move forward, because even though you can't see your Mom standing next to you, she is with you, today, tomorrow and always.

The Family of Pat Lewis
Don and I met your mother at Walnut Hills a few years ago, we have since moved away. I was so sorry to hear of the heart attack. I so enjoyed your mother's few of life. We had many laughs and visits when we worked together during our time on the Women of Walnut Hills committee. She was a special person and will be greatly missed. Carol and Don Flater
