Service Details
Ron Howser, 66, died Thursday, July 10, 2008 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Ron was born December 5, 1941 in Des Moines to Chester and Mary Ella (Cook) Howser. He served in the U.S. Navy. Ron retired from truck driving in 2006 and went to work for Countryside Golf Course in Norwalk. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, hunting, golfing, traveling, boating and Friday night poker in Milo.
Ron is survived by his daughters, Kristi Crane and Kari (David) Madole, both of Altoona; five granddaughters, Olivia, Claire, Faith, Stella and Adeline; sister, Glenda (Mike) Bagg of Waukee; brothers, Denny (Nancy) Howser of Johnston and Neal (Sherri) Howser of Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, R.C. and Paul; and granddaughter, Ella.

My sympathy goes out to both of you Kristi and Kari! I got the pleasure of meeting Ron a few years ago when he meet up with Shirley. We had a lot of fun golfing a couple of times together and enjoyed him being able to take the cruise with our family. I have talked to Ron a few times in the last couple of months just to see how he was doing and he asked me when I was going to get up their to golf around again, so he could at least make an attepmt to beat me. He was always a great person to vsit with and had lots of conversations and always was such a open-minded, fun person to be with. I just want you to know that we thought of him alot and my heart goes out to you and all your families. God be with you all.
