Gary Denniston

Gary Dean Denniston, 68, passed away on May 29, 2018 at home. He was born in Stanberry, MO, on July 18, 1949 to Cecil and Alberta (Johns) Denniston.

Gary was a hardworking man, retiring from Firestone after many years of service, and building his own home from the ground up. He enjoyed animals and spent a good portion of his life raising dogs and horses. Gary also enjoyed making others laugh and always had a good joke to share.

Gary is survived by his children, Shannon (Brant) Denniston-Cunningham, Michelle Mathews, Samantha Brantley, Keith McElwee and Stephanie Denniston; grandchildren, Hailie, Damien, Mason, Tyler, Hunter, Carleigh, Mercedes, Lucas, Apollo, and Athena; sister in law, Diana Denniston; as well as his ex-wife of 18 years and dear friend, Debbe Terry. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James Denniston.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 10, 2018, at First United Methodist Church, 1001 Pleasant Street in Des Moines.
