Wilma Douglas

Wilma F. Douglas, 95, of Des Moines, died December 20, 2006 at Valley View Village. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 28, 2006 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue; burial will take place in Chapel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Wilma was born January 9, 1911 in Des Moines. She married Raymond W. Douglas on April 29, 1931. Wilma worked at Kurtz Jr. High as a matron, retiring in 1973. Wilma was a member of Rebecca Lodge, and held the position of Grand Matron. Wilma enjoyed traveling, reading, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.
Wilma is survived by her son, Ronald (Ileane) Douglas of Goodyear, AZ, her daughter, Dolores (Ronald) May of Evansdale, her son, Glenn Douglas (Janet) of Waukee, her daughter, Carolyn Shepler of Mandeville, LA; her sisters, Margaret Ahern of Arizona, Vivian Schleihs of Johnston, and Sally Hockmuth of Des Moines; 16 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great grandchildren. Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond and her daughter, Gloria Wickett.
