Frances Ellen Woods

Frances Ellen Howard Woods, daughter of Emory H. and Esther Howard, passed from this life May 26, 2018. She was born July 15, 1930 in Adelphi, Iowa. Frances served in the Salvation Army for nine years.

She retired from Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Iowa in 1985. In 1974, Frances was married to the late Floyd B. Woods. In June of 1985, Floyd and Frances moved to Lake Marie in Mercer, Mo. In April 2004, they moved to the Senior Housing in Lineville, Iowa.

Survivors are sisters in law, Patricia Howard of Pleasant Hill and Wilma Petty of Altoona; one step-son, Lloyd James of Des Moines; one step-granddaughter, Barbara Woods of Des Moines; one step-grandson Randy and wife, Cindy of Colfax, Iowa; 9 step-great grandchildren; 1 step-great great grandson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Preceded in death besides her parents are husband, Floyd; brother, Ivan Howard; and step-son, David Woods.

Family visitation 10am-12am on Thursday, May 31st with graveside services at Powers-Warren Cemetery to follow.
