Ted Worthington

Ted Robert Worthington, 74, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2008 at the Kavanagh House on 56th Street. Funeral services will be held 11 am Wednesday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
Ted was born September 23, 1933 in Pershing to Opal and Roy Worthington. Ted served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He worked at Armstrong Tire and Rubber Co. for 27 years. Ted was a member of Local 164 United Rubbers Workers Union. He loved spending time with his family. Ted enjoyed fishing, gardening, mushroom hunting and woodworking.
Ted is survived by his loving wife, Sharon, his sons, Ted (Elane), Roy (Tina), Bill and Rob (Sherry) all of Des Moines; his 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild ;his brother, Clifford L. Worthington of Milo and his sister, Verna Umble (William) of Pella
