Ellen "Nellie" K. Reisman

Ellen “Nellie” K. Reisman, 77, passed away on May 16, 2018 at Westview Care Center in Indianola from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. She was born on June 9, 1940 to Alfred and Edna (Bent) Klug. Nellie was raised by her mother and step-father, August Hinnenkamp.

Nellie worked for Helena Chemical Company for 29 years before retiring in 2006. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her beloved dog.

Nellie is survived by her daughter; Susan (Brad Borchert) Thompson-Borchert; sons; Jim (Cynthia Ramsey-Reisman) Reisman, Kenneth Reisman and Marlin (Kelda) Reisman; brothers, Kenneth Klug, August Hinnenkamp and Earl Hinnenkamp; seven grandchildren, Israel Reisman, Adam Thompson, Mica Pipho, Delaney Sytsma, Zech Winders, Molly Reisman and Gabe Reisman; six great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Boots Jorgensen and Wayne Klug; and her beloved husband, Kenneth L. Reisman; son, Edward L. Reisman and son in law, Jeffrey Thompson.

The family will greet friends Monday, May 21, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League or the Iowa State Fair in loving memory of Nellie.
