Dorothy A. Miller, 87, passed away May 6, 2018, from complications of a fall. She was born near Bondurant on May 11, 1930, to Walter and Alice Hagge.
Dorothy and her siblings were raised in Mitchellville, Iowa. In 1949, she was united in marriage to Charles Miller and was a dedicated homemaker while raising her children. She then worked at Ardans Department Store, Super Value Headquarters, the bank in Highland Park, and Hi-Ho Restaurant over the years.
Dorothy enjoyed camping, fishing, sewing, and gardening.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Linda DeWees; son, Charles Miller, Jr. (Wanna Wongvoran); grandsons, Matthew (Laura) DeWees, Adam (Heather) DeWees, Charles (Jennifer) Miller III, Chad Miller, Max Chaisomkhun; great-grandchildren, Ryan DeWees, Milo DeWees, and Katie Miller; sister, Betty Eklund; brother, Bill Hagge; as well as other loving family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles and three brothers, Paul, Bob, and Jim Hagge.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave. in Des Moines, with a graveside service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Pine Hill Cemetery.

I have fond memories of 'Aunt Dot' from my childhood when she and Uncle Chuck would visit us in Port Arthur, TX. I was sorry to hear of her passing. God give her family and friends His comfort.
