Susan Roberta (Wright) Mendenhall was born September 16, 1947, in Des Moines, Iowa to Robert and Lily (Sheeler) Wright. She was employed as a mortgage banker and was a member of Pleasant Hill Free Church in Pleasant Hill.
Susan passed away peacefully Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Courtyard Estates in Pleasant Hill at the age of 70.
She is survived by her son, David Mendenhall, Jr., son, Tim Mendenhall, daughter, Leanna (Mike) Craig; grandchildren, Tiffany (Vance) Misel, Taylor (Trey) McMurry and Dylan Craig; great-grandchildren, Keeley Craig, Jackson Misel and Zaden McMurry; mother, Lily Wright; brother, Greg (Lori) Wright; as well as many other extended family and friends.
Susan was preceded in death by her husband, David Mendenhall, Sr. and her father, Robert Wright.
There will be a memorial service at Pleasant Hill Free Church, 4555 Parkridge Avenue, Pleasant Hill, on Saturday, May 12th, 2018 at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Susan.

Momma, it's been 18 days since tou left me and i have never missed you more. I know youb and my dad are in heavens garden singing and catching up. I do hope you hear me when i talk to you. Life is just awful for me now and i never needed you more and i turn atound and your gone and i dont know what to do. Mama Sue I didn't get a chance to know you for very long but the time that we had together I sure enjoyed. We've laughed together and cried we told stories and jokes, and you seen me be silly in the cemetery playing air guitar , and have written our names with sparklers in the sky. And I will miss you! For having such a cursed disease you were truly blessed with a family that loves and cared for you so well. I can only pray that I am as blessed as you when it's my time. until we meet again, your friend Robbie girl!
