Ronald E. Woolson, 50, died at his home Tuesday, July 1, 2008. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, July 5, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. with burial at Cory Grove Cemetery in Elkhart. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Ronald was born August 2, 1957. He was a bus driver for the Des Moines Public Schools and DART. Ronald was also a concession manager at Principal Park (Sec Taylor Stadium) and a spotter for the Iowa Barnstormers. He was an umpire for Grandview Little League and loved playing Santa Clause. Ronald was an avid bowler with the Monday Night Fun Lovers League at AMF and an avid fan of the Pittsburg Steelers and the Iowa Hawkeyes. He was a member of the AFSCME Union.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Sherry; children, Joshua, Charlene and Jacob; sisters, Nancy (Richard) Braman, Roberta (Tim) Blakeman, Carol (Stan) Beck and Cheryl Remington; brother, Charles (Sandy) Woolson; brother-in-law, Carl Baker; sister-in-law, Melody (Bill) Culler; mother-in-law, Sharon Baker; many nieces, nephew and other extended relatives; and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Wilma Woolson and his father-in-law, Charlie Baker.
