Floyd Lomax

Floyd Lomax, 89, passed away Friday, June 27, 2008 at Riverview Care Center. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 1528 E. University with burial at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St.
Floyd was born October 12, 1918 in Jamestown, North Carolina. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Floyd was a retired cement finisher, an avid fisherman, gardener and a baseball fan.
Floyd is survived by his children, Donie Lomax of Illinois, Michael Lomax of Pennsylvania, Vickie Anderson of Des Moines and Jeni Walker of Nebraska; and five grandchildren, Ashiah and Miciah Anderson, Michael Lomax, Jr., Kamika May and Kiera West. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eugenia and nine brothers and sisters.
