Ellen Abbington

Ellen Delores “Dee or Abby” Abbington, 77, passed away Friday, June 27, 2008 at The Taylor House. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday July 2, 2008 at Union Baptist Church with burial following at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St.
Ellen was born April 12, 1931 to Ruth Hendersen. She loved crocheting, cooking, bowling, making ceramics and shopping.
Ellen is survived by her mother, Ruth Jefferson; sons, Rex Abbington, Sr., Dennis Abbington and Ross Abbington; daughters, Rochelle Abbington and Renee Scott; brother, Dallas Hamilton; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Abbington; brother, Edward Hamilton; and her granddaughter, Arceyya Scott.
