LeRoy Scott, Jr.

Leroy Scott Jr., 50, died Friday, June 27, 2008 at the VA Hospital in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday July 3, 2008 at Morning Star Baptist Church, 3200 Lincoln, with cremation to follow.
Leroy was born December 2, 1957 to Leroy Scott and Ruth Ralston in Chicago. He served in the Army from 1976-1979 and worked in maintenance at the Embassy Suites, Mercy Hospital, and most recently, the US Postal Service. Leroy was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church, Elks Lodge #160, and the Disabled Veterans. He belonged to the American Postal Worker Union.
Leroy is survived by his wife, Anntinette Guy-Scott; sister, Lillian Campbell of Dayton, OH; stepdaughter, LaShai Woods of Dallas, TX; granddaughter, Neriah of Dallas, TX; and goddaughter, Jelexia of Des Moines.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Ruth Scott; stepmother, Rose Scott; mother-in-law, Bessie Guy; and brothers, Carl Scott and Richard Scott.
Visitation will be held 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with family present from 6-8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Disabled American Veterans.
