Eileen Johnson

Eileen Johnson, 94, of Des Moines, Iowa, died June 25, 2008 at Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House. Visitation will be held 6:00–8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 1 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th St., Des Moines. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, 11:00 AM, July 2nd at Christ the King Catholic Church.
Eileen was born in Estherville, Iowa, March 11, 1914 to Ellen Connelly and Roger McGowan. She graduated from Corpus Christi High School in Fort Dodge.
She is survived by her children: Dick (Joan) Grosnickle of Mesa, AZ, Marjorie Sparks of Indianola, Larry (Phyllis) Grosnickle of Des Moines, Pat Dunahoo of Carlisle; one sister Ellen Kluzak of Wichita, KS; 21 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Eileen was preceded in death by her husband Delbert O. Johnson and her son Roger.
