Service Details
Veryl Klawonn, 59, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2008 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home with burial to follow at Linn Grove Cemetery in Norwalk.
Veryl was born March 9, 1949 in Moline, Illinois, the son of Ivan and Lavanna (Stender) Klawonn. He was the owner of Veryl’s Auto in Norwalk and was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.
Veryl is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Deanna “Dede”; his son, Ryan (Wendi) Klawonn of Norwalk; his daughter, Regan (Jim) Kelley of Des Moines; grandchildren, Brandon, Brianna and Tanner; brothers, Gaylan (Patty) Klawonn of Florida and Mert (Jackie) Klawonn of Illinois; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will greet friends from 4-8 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2008 at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the family to establish a memorial fund in loving memory of Veryl. Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

DeDee and Family, We were so sorry to read about Veryl's passing and you all have our sympathy. I can't think of a time I didn't see Veryl smiling. Jim and I always looked forward to the class reunions because you two always made and it and we enjoyed visiting with you both. We had some good times!! Ever since Jacki and Mert got together, I looked so forward to family dos because I always knew I would be seeing the 2 of you. Veryl had a way of making sure everyone around him was having fun and was happy. It is hard for me not to be with you at this time but all my thoughts and prayers are with you. If you need help with anything, let us know. God bless you and have a Blue for Veryl for me.

We are so sorry to hear about Veryl. He will be missed greatly by everyone who knew him. Our family get togethers will never be the same. If there is ever-ever anything you need, please let us know. This year just needs to be completely deleted. Our prayers are with you and the family.

Veryl was a great friend and classmate. We will really miss him. Veryl was always ready for a good time, and we had a lot of good laughs with him!
