Dear Murphy Family:
I had the pleasure of getting to know Eric while working at American Equity. Eric was a great man who had a special ability to make people feel welcome and special. Reflecting on things, I now realize that just maybe Eric's formula for life is very simple: he cared and he listened. Eric made a serious effort to learn the names of everyone who passed his desk at American Equity, including me.
I am filled with both sadness and joy in learning of Eric's passing. I am sad that his work in this life is now finished. I am glad that he is now starting his next life in God's heavenly kingdom. My custom is to say a prayer for the deceased, that Eric will be welcomed into God's heavenly kingdom, and many prayers for the Murphy family for the difficult moments that will come. Take comfort in knowing that Eric was a good man and that he is now reunited with his parents, his brother, and his son.
I will pray for Eric and for you. And I will try my best to care a little more and to listen a little harder.
I am glad that I passed Eric's desk.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I have always thought a lot of Eric because of his kind & gentle personality. He had a smile that lit up the room & always made you feel like he was genuinely glad to see you. He has always reminded me of my grandpa Turner as he looks like him & has that same cat eating grin. All of you hold a special place in my heart with many memories of playing kick the can & kick soccer in the neighborhood. Especially, you Holly as I remember how close we were as growing up. You are are a great family & just generally very great people. Please let me know if there is anything I can do. I just wish I could make the pain go away.
Love always!!!

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. It came as a surprise to me Friday morning when I got to work. Even though I only spent a short time with him on Monday, I will always remember his jokes and smiles that day. I am glad I got to meet such a great loving person and family. My thoughts and prayers are with you always.
My sincere condolences,
Lizzie (nurse)
