Betty McDole

Betty McDole, 81, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2008 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Betty was born to Katherine and William Moody in 1927.
Betty attended East High School. She was a homemaker for several years, and also worked as a matron meter maid. Betty was involved in many organizations including, Eastern Star 89, Za-Ga-Zig Ladies Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary and Marine League Auxiliary. Betty also enjoyed playing bridge.
She is survived by her husband, Glenn McDole; daughters, Glenda (Galyn) Johnson and Katherine (Larry) McDole-Parkins; brother, John (Lois) Moody; sister-in-law, Dolores Moore; brother-in-law, Joe (Gloria) McDole; grandchildren, Michelle (Mike) Schroder, Melissa (Jamie) Carter and Heather (Viktor) Sanderson; and six great-grandchildren, Ryan and Malorie Schroder, Addison and Casen Carter, and Jacob and Jordan Sanderson.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents; baby sister, Pauline, and brother, Bill Moody.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 16, 2008 at Highland Park Christian Church, 4260 NW 6 Drive, Des Moines; burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Family will visit with friends from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, June 15, 2008 at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Highland Park Christian Church Building Fund in loving memory of Betty.
