Service Details
Philip Jordan Rowe, 38, died Wednesday, June 11, 2008. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 16, 2008 at Park Avenue Christian Church, 3219 SW 9th St., Des Moines, Iowa.
Philip was born November 20, 1969 in Norfolk, Virginia. He was raised in Houston, Missouri and moved to the Des Moines area in 1980. He and his wife Donna recently moved to Altoona. Philip was a diesel mechanic for Freightliner of Des Moines. He was an avid outdoorsman. Philip loved his family and his friends. He lived life to its fullest and on his own terms.
Philip is survived by his loving wife, Donna; daughter, Shyanne (Adam) Marchant; daughter/sister, Jessica; parents, Perry and Raeleene Rowe; four granddaughters; brother, Daniel (Val) Rowe; sister, Tammy Rowe; three nieces, three nephews and many, many friends.

Although I didnt get to know you long, I got to know you well.You was one of the most funny and endearing people I ever met. You always made me laugh, and was a riot to ride motorcycles with. Your comical sense of timing was perfect and I was sure that someday you would catch a fish.I was looking forward to learning how to hunt deer,but I will take a raincheck for now. I WILL meet with you again someday and we will ride, bike and hunt and just be happy. Love Ya Bro.

Losing Phil has made me realize how fragile life is. He was taken from all of us much too soon. I have learned lessons from his time with us and the terrible shock of losing him. I will learn to play. I will learn to not let the little things bother me. I will remember to tell people I love them and how much they mean to me. I will not take the precious moments I have on this earth for granted.
Every life Phil touched while he was living, has been made better. I adored his sense of humor and still do not know where he came up with the funny things he said. He talked all the time about Donna when she wasn't with him. He spoke so often of his friends that I have come to know them without having, at the time, met them.
It's so hard to realize that he has been taken away from us. Someone so full of life and love should still be here. But, for whatever reason, God had to take him home. I will never forget him.
Donna, you know how much I care for you. I will always be here for you night and day. God has put us together for a reason and I think we are beginning to understand why.
I love you both with all of my heart!

Thanks to everyone for all your love and prayers. Phil had so many friends and family and loved them all dearly. He lived a beautiful life and I am so lucky to have my life touched by him before the Lord took him home.

I miss you, Phil. I love you. I know that you're in God's loving embrace. Thanks, baby for making me laugh. I'll never forget your smile, or the mischevious look you had when you were about to pull a trick on someone. There'll always be a place in my heart for my baby.
