Frank Watson, Jr. was born September 29, 1929 to Frank, Sr. and Dagmar (Christensen) Watson. He died Tuesday, December 19, 2006. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 22, 2006 at Lutheran Church of Hope, 925 Jordan Creek Parkway, West Des Moines, Iowa at 10 a.m. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines where the family will be present to greet visitors. A Masonic service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m.
Frank graduated from East High School in June, 1947. He served in Korea with the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in October, 1953. He married Phyllis S. Haag in 1954, and two children, David and Lori, were born to this union. He attended Georgetown University and graduated from the Drake University Law School in 1959. He was employed as an attorney for the Veterans Administration, as an Assistant Polk County Attorney and was in private law practice until his retirement.
Frank was a 50 year mason. He belonged to the East Gate Lodge #630 and Acanthus Lodge #632 as well as the Scottish Rite and Za-Ga-Zig Shrine. He was a member of the Danish Brotherhood, the Urbandale American Legion Post #663 and Lutheran Church of Hope.
Frank is survived by his wife Phyllis; his son, David (Susan) Watson of West Des Moines; his daughter Lori Fuller of Denver, Colorado; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two half brothers, and three half sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Za-Ga-Zig Shrine Transportation Fund or Hospice of Central Iowa.
