Larry Gibson

Larry L. Gibson Sr. “Hoot” was born in 1950 in Iowa City. He was 58 years old. He lived most of his life in Des Moines, Iowa. He passed June 10, 2008. Services will be at 1 PM Monday, June16 at Hamilton’s, 605 Lyon St. Visitation will be held Sunday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
Larry entered into the service in 1969-1971 and then joined the Army Reserve until 1975. He worked for the City of Des Moines for 36 years and retired in 2004. He went back to work at Field Paper in Ankeny.
Larry was survived by a loving wife of 35 years Sharon K Gibson; two sons, Larry L. Gibson, Jr. (Patti) and James Gibson (Pam); three grandsons, Austin Gibson, Dacoda Gibson, and Kyle Gibson, all of Des Moines; an uncle, Vern Mason of Pershing, Iowa; and many cousins; mother-in-law, Jeanette Hayner of Dumont, Iowa; brother’s-in-law, Mike Hayner (Dawn) of Hampton, Iowa, Gene Hayner of Dumont, Iowa, Steve Hayner of Hubbard, Iowa; sister’s-in-law, Mary Adams (Rick) of Hubbard, Iowa and Suzie Hayner from Dumont, Iowa; many nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.
