Neva Helm

Neva J. Helm, 72, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. with burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Neva was born August 28, 1935 in Des Moines to Orian and Mildred Smith. She worked for United Plating for over 20 years. After her retirement from there, she went to work at Antler’s Lounge and Grill, fully retiring in 2002. Neva loved spending time with her family, going to her children’s and grandchildren’s games, playing cards and bingo. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church.
Neva is survived by her children, Mary (Denny) Mefferd, Robert (Janet) Helm, Jr., Mike (Kyle) Helm, Peg (Jim) Woods and Gary (Tereasa) Helm; siblings, Butch, Bob, Beryl, Irene and Cindy; 21 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Helm, Sr.; and two sons, Larry and Jerry.
