Shirley May (Haynes) Wilson, 87, passed away peacefully Friday, April 27, 2018 at Ramsey Village in Des Moines.
Shirley was born June 3, 1930 in Des Moines to Hubert and Adeline (Newton) Haynes. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1948. Shirley married Caleb Wilson in 1948. She worked at Bishop’s Cafeteria for 15 years. Shirley loved spending time with her family.
Shirley is survived by her loving husband, Caleb; children, Gary (Angela) Wilson, David Wilson, Diana (Jerry) Nizzi, Sandy Anderson and Lisa Wilson; 16 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Ronnie; and infant son, Larry.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 3, 2018 from 1 to 2 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Shirley will be laid to rest at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
