Paula Jean Strennen

Paula Jean Strennen was born August 12, 1955, to Paul and Arlene (Rodgers) Strennen in Ottumwa, Iowa. As the sun rose on Tuesday, April 24th, 2018, the Lord painted the sky in bright, beautiful colors to rejoice and welcomed her home. Paula was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, and aunt.

Paula surpassed what it meant to be a hero, achieving numerous awards and decorations for the time she served in our U.S. Army, including several years in South Korea and Germany before retiring.

Paula’s infectious laughter and loving manner is how she will be remembered. She is survived by her loving mother, sisters Judy Hopper and Cindy Strennen, son Steven, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and brother, Paul, Jr.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 12th, 2018, 2:00 p.m., at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery, 34024 Veterans Memorial Drive, Adel, Iowa, followed by a luncheon at the American Legion to celebrate her life.
